The small town Paleochora is located on the southwest coast of the greek island Crete, ca. 70 km away from Chania.

Two large beaches – a sandy and a pebble beach – surround the town. Several more beaches and bays are close to Paleochora. They invite to swim and to sunbath.

The seafront becomes a pedestrian area in the evening. Here you can find several tavernas with local and international food. In the town centre, just a few steps away, there are jewelry- and souvenir-shops, cafés and bars where you can spend your evenings.

In the local travel agencies you can rent cars and mopeds. You also can book trips: for example a hike through Samaria-Gorge – the longest gorge of Europe. Or a daytrip to Elafonisi which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

There is going a bus to the city of Chania several times a day. Chania is a charming city with a lovely old town and a lot of traditional shops. There also is the closest airport.
